Our History

"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake." 2 Cor. 4:5

Hoboken 1967

North Bergen Reformed Baptist Church, formerly known as First Baptist Church, began its journey in 1968. Since 1977, God in His providence led the church to learn the doctrines of the Protestant Reformation.

These biblical truths address the glory, majesty and sovereignty of God in his work of salvation, to whom is ascribed the place of preeminence in the church that is rightfully his. Like other orthodox doctrines, these are vital to the worship to be given to God and the faithful proclamation of his grace.

Our purpose as a church is to glorify the Lord through the promotion of theocentric worship, the evangelization of sinners, the edification of the saints, as well as the work of establishing and strengthening churches (Matthew 28:17-20 Acts 15:3,36,41).

We are committed to the proclamation of God's perfect Law and the glorious Gospel of His grace throughout the world, and to the defense of "the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints" (Jude 3).
